πMy Hotelier Journey- Part 1: How I Found My Passion in the Hospitality Industry
πΈ Every dream has a beginning -- mine started with curiosity and a little confusion. I never imagined myself working in hotels and becoming hotelier, but somewhere deep inside, I always wanted to do something different, something that made people think and be in out of Box.
I’m a girl who stepped into the hotel industry with big dreams. Many people believe that girls should have limited opportunities -- stay at home or marry a well-settled man. Some even say that hotel jobs are easy or cheap. But I want to tell those people one thing: the hotel industry is not just a job -- it’s a passion. It’s about providing care, comfort, and satisfaction to every guest who trusts our service and stays with us.
Every profession plays a vital and crucial role in life. If a farmer thought farming was a low-income or unworthy job and stopped working, would people get food? Just like farming, every job deserves respect. No work is small -- what matters is the heart and dedication behind it.
The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced doubts, challenges, and moments of fear. But behind every struggle, there has always been one person standing beside me -- my mom, the queen of my life. She taught me to stand stronger, smile brighter, and believe that my dreams are worth fighting for. Her strength became my motivation, and kept my dreams alive even when things felt impossible.
When I was a kid, I loved cooking and experimenting with new dishes. That courage and interest came from my grandmother and my mom. My grandmother always prepared delicious food, and I still remember the love in every meal she made. She used to teach me how to cook, and that’s when I started dreaming of becoming a chef.
In my mind, the only way to make that dream come true was by studying hotel management. So, when I was in 10th standard, I decided that’s what I wanted to do. During my intermediate studies, I didn’t want to take too much stress by choosing MPC (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry), because hotel management doesn’t have any specific subject barrier. Instead, I chose to study a vocational course -- Accounts & Taxation (A&T) -- which helped me stay focused while keeping my dream alive.
Choosing this path wasn’t just a career decision -- it was a heart decision. The journey ahead wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Every step taught me patience, strength, and the importance of staying kind no matter what.
This is just the start of my story. In my next post, I’ll share about my first step into the hospitality world — how it all really began. πΏπ«
